About OSP

Ocean State Performance is a full service fabrication, restoration, and speed shop “run by racers for racers”.  Owned and operated by Pat Burke and Ron Gizzarelli, it is the mission of OSP to promote and participate in the sport of drag racing as well as enhance overall automotive and light truck street performance. OSP is dedicated to servicing muscle cars, classic cars, race cars, diesel pick-ups, and all types of high performance products ranging from cars and trucks to diesels and even boats.   
 
Ocean State Performance was first established in 2001 by Pat Burke in order to fund and promote his own drag racing program and cars.  Pat has been intrigued by and involved in drag racing and high performance automobiles and trucks for a number of years. 
 
Pat’s vast area of expertise includes EFI and carburetor power tuning, chassis set up & tuning, automotive electrical systems, induction systems, and all types of power adders. He is also the Crew Chief and builder for some of the fastest 10.5 tire racecars in the country.
 
Known affectionately as “Doctor Hook,” Pat is the driving force behind the success of OSP and many of the racers associated with them. His philosophy?  “You can have all the power in the world, but if you can’t put it to the ground consistently you won’t win.” The results speak for themselves.

 
Ron Gizzarelli was fascinated with the sport of Drag Racing since he was a young boy and his Dad would take him to watch the races at the “old airstrip” in Charlestown, Rhode Island. 
 
Since then Ron has owned and tinkered with countless Classic and Muscle cars, including a racecar campaigned by him and his brother throughout the early 1990’s.
 

Ocean State Performance became a partnership and corporation when Ron, a friend and customer of Pat’s, came on board in March of 2004.  Ron had been Owner and President of two very successful businesses in the past and it seemed like a natural fit that the two would join forces and change the face of automotive performance in New England for years to come.

In January of 2005 OSP moved into it’s current 20,000 sg. ft. facility where we continue to grow and add more services daily. Pat & Ron are also aware that the best facility’s and equipment mean nothing unless you have the right people in place to take advantage of them. That philosophy shines thru when you realize that OSP’s core personnel have been with them since the beginning. Every employee at OSP takes pride in their work believes that quality workmanship and respect for our customers prized possessions is the #1 priority.
 
To sum it up, Ocean State Performance is firmly committed to the preservation and advancement of Drag Racing as a safe and fun sport to be enjoyed by all ages, along with a heart felt dedication to keeping alive the rich heritage of the American Performance Automobile.
